he doesn't hear anyone coming
one person draps blanket over victim's hyead
the RD2 begins whacking him with a lock in a small bag
the otehr assaliant stikes a couple of times
victim screams very loudly
the assilants ran, leavingt the blanket over the victim's head
Seaman Sand was working his way around that deck doing security check from the stern forward connecting his sound power3ed phone to a socket and calling the bridge.
have him calling in
Sand hears the scream and runs towards the sound, stopping to carefully step through each hatch and arrives at the crime scene. by the time he arrives, the victim has removed the blanket and is clearly alive. without getting into the bloody area, Sand connects to the sound powered line and reports finding a bleeding man on the deck. reports the bloody blanket and tells the bridge where he is
the bridge officer calls medical, get the HM1 immediately and sends him to the attack scene. then, he called the weapons officer, advises him of the attack and asks if the Yeoman cop is there. He was and both copy and dept head go running to the crime sceen
cop wants to treat scene as a crime sceen and have careful pictures taken and a statement taken
medic want to go to the victim immediatly
XO arrives adjudicates argument
has ship's photographer sent for
photos are taken and then medic is allowed to check victim
victim put on stretcher and taken to medeical
gets physical exam
drafts mesage to medical , which XO authorizes sending
xo briefs co, shows him the message, co liked it
the cop, weapons, deck officer in the co's office
co talls deck officer to have all watchy officers write down who was on duty and where they were when the attack occurred
co says only those officers can attest for can be considered non-guilty
what about chiefs
co was startled and said chiefs would not attack this sailor, they are ng also

mugging
personnel vouched for by officers
everyone who know victim is asked if they did it
made list of enemies
couldn't figure out hitter from list
sailors in dept and ajoining dept could be vouched for by other

came back in port, bm2 goes off ship...brings back laundry, snack food etc
goes ashore again in evening, has quicky with new girlfriend, sneaks back on ship
some sailors sneak booze in their pea coats past the guards and leave in the porta potty. other sailors take the booze from porta potty onto ship. the golden boys got searched, the rest did not...
Harry visits his new friend, the Moleman, bitches about being stuck on the ship, Moleman reads him the extract from poem "stone walls..."

bad food and dept has c rats with xo blessings

ship goes out and back into Cuban port. dock worker smuggles booze onto ship. CO finds out and goes nuts

big inspection. magazines ordered off ship. unruh tells gm1 "he didn't say deep 6 them, he said get them ouot of here. hide them well. mail them off ship.
box taken to postal clerk who says "store it here till you get the postage
box of books is hidden under ammo and then split up between sailors lockers

sent to aircraft carrier and then to land for surgery. Doc Lambert's teacher has him assist.

CO relents, lets XO announce in POD that lockdown is over
RD2 and boys break into XO's office and type up taunting note and stick in the bulletin board outside xo office
rd2 and boys on 4am to 8am watch when XO finds taunting note...goes to co...CO freeks out...recinds redention and sailors are livid...an atmosphere of inquisitioin starts...mugger tell each other "we never expected this"...on watch, their watch officer got them donuts because "I know none of you are stupid enought or cruel enough to have done any of this: the mugging or the bragging note"
questions being asked about who could have done this and did you hear any stange noises or people out and about who should not have been...
writers meetings going on...more intense writing
harry's lawyer tells him thru xo harry could lose kids due non attendenance...judbe tring to prevent this motion from going around him but could see appeals put it in...someone damaged C's car and it could not have been as he was in hospital from being shot in ending robbery---cop gets cop's "Purple Heart" and sympathy cards from harry and TJ.
