"Nuclear Power" by James A. Mchaffey

4. My comments:  This book is simply fascinating. Dr. Mchaffey discusses nuclear  various nuclear power systems and their usages. The lead cooled reactors (used in Soviet ALFA class subs) is amazing. The ideas for nuclear powered rockets have me wondering why the "fission fragment rocket" hasn't been used. The method is simple and elegant; we could have been sending high speed missions to the outer planets since 1988. we could have sent probes to Pluto in 1990s.
